1. Mélanie loves reading. How does she describe this passion? what she loves is to spend some time (or similar) with an interesting novel

2. When and where does she read? in the garden on the deck (patio) in the sun even in the car going to school in the morning if she is not busy (she reads)

Je suis vraiment un rat de bibliothèque ! 3. What does she describe herself as why is this description effective? a library rat effective because it has the idea of “devouring” books / or similar

4. How does Mélanie regard a “good book”? it is her passport to go overseas without leaving home / it allows her to travel in her mind (or similar) without leaving home

5. What does Mélanie say about TV? She prefers reading to watching TV the programmes are boring and often childish American comedies are not at all funny / amusing

6. Mélanie mentions three ways in which she gets books. Give details of them. she is a member of the library near her place she goes there at least once a week she spends all her pocket money at the bookshop one is not mistaken / makes no mistake buying /giving her a book for a present

7. What does she say about the books she possesses? She has a lot of books in her collection because she loves all genres she is not sure how many (books) she has but certainly more than a hundred

8. Mélanie’s mother has an opinion and a warning for her. What are these? Give all details. opinion: she often says that it is ridiculous how much time she spends with her nose in a book / reading warning: I she does not stop reading all the time she will need glasses before the age of 20.

9. What is Mélanie’s response to this warning? Why does she feel this way? If she needs to wear glasses one day she will buy glasses which are modern and chic/with it etc. She is always in the middle of a good story which never lasts long enough therefore she can’t stop reading
