Get your speed right! Listen to the three examples below and appreciate the difference between each one. Remember, if you go too fast, you might not sound clear on the tape. However, if you are too slow, you may not have time for the questions afterwards. TOO FAST! 45 seconds instead of 90 approx. TOO SLOW! 120 seconds instead of 90 approx. JUST RIGHT! 1 ½ minutes SCRIPT

Questions after the presentation You will be asked a number of questions after your presentation. The questions will relate to your presentation. There is no set number of questions to be asked as it depends how long your answers are. The ‘question time’ should be equally balanced with the length of your presentation. Ideally 90sec for each part! Total: 3mins

On reste à l’hôtel.

Last few tips… In order to help you learn your presentation you could: Ask your teacher to record your presentation on a tape for you to listen to at home. This is a good way to learn accurate pronunciation. Photocopy you presentation and cut it up in strips, mix the strips up and reconstruct your presentation ( if you type up your presentation, you can space out each sentence so it’s easier to cut out) Photocopy your presentation and blank out some words (like the previous exercise). A colourful and well presented cue cards can be very helpful.
