Le superlatif Comparing people and things within a group.

What is the ‘superlative’? The superlative is used to single out one item from the group and compare it to all the others In English it is often expressed by saying ‘the most’ or ‘the least’

En Français: The superlative is formed in French by using: le plus la+ or+ adjective + de les moins

Copiez les examples: Cette robe est la plus chère de la boutique This dress is the most expensive in the boutique. Ce chemisier est le moins cher de la boutique This blouse is the least expensive in the boutique. Ces chaussures sont les plus jolies de toutes les chaussures. These shoes are the prettiest of all the shoes.

The suprelative of ‘bon’ Just as in English we don’t say ‘the goodest’, in French they DON’T say le/la plus bon(ne)

Copiez: Les chaussures bleues sont bonnes. (The blue shoes are good.) Les chaussures blanches sont les meilleures de toutes les chaussures ( The white shoes are the best of all the shoes)

Copiez: Good BetterThe best Bon(s) Meilleur(s) le(s) meilleur(s) Bonne(s) Meilleure(s) la(les) meilleure(s)
