VOULOIR (to want)

O Je veux un sandwich. O I want a sandwich. O Qu’est-ce que tu veux? O What do you want? O Ton père veut un fruit. O Your father wants (a piece of) fruit.
O Nous ne voulons pas ces tomates. O We don’t want these tomatoes. O Où voulez-vous manger? O Where do you want to eat? O Ils veulent faire une quiche. O They want to make a quiche.
O You already know one form of the verb vouloir that you use when you ask for something: O Je voudrais… (I would like…) O The French often use this form, which is more polite than je veux.
