Negation To make a verb negative, add NE before the verb and PAS right after it. NE becomes N’ before a vowel (a, e, i, o, u). J’ai un livre. Je n’ai pas de livre. Remember to use DE before the noun in negation.

Plural, Singular, Negation Use DES to say “some”. Nous avons des posters. BUT, Nous n’avons pas DE poster.
