Masculine - - s Feminine - e - es Petit Petits Petite Petites Ex:

5 Irregular adjectives do NOT follow this pattern.
Adjectives that end in –e in the masculine singular DO NOT add another –e in the feminine singular. Example: Thomas est riche. Sophie est riche aussi. Adjectives that end in –s in the masculine singular remain the same in masculine plural. Example: Marc est chinois. Patrick et Eric sont chinois aussi. Irregular adjectives do NOT follow this pattern. Frederic est beau. Mon grand-père est vieux. J’ai un nouveau cousin. Cecile est belle. Ma tante est vieille. Qui est ta nouvelle cousines.

6 POSITION: Most of the adjectives come AFTER the noun, but however, some come BEFORE the noun. grand bon nouveau joli mauvais petit beau vieux jeune Examples: Une nouvelle maison. Un jeune homme. The adjectives beau, nouveau, and vieux become bel, nouvel, & vieil before a vowel sound. Examples: Un bel appartement Un nouvel ami

She is very(très) beautiful. He is an old man. I have a new bike. We are shy.

9 PRACTICE: Pierre and Marc are funny. Pierre et Marc sont drôles.
She is very(très) beautiful. Elle est très belle. He is an old man. Il est un vieil homme. I have a new bike. J'ai un nouveau vélo. We are shy. Nous sommes timides.
