3 The Future Tense You can express the future tense in French in two ways. by using aller + infinitive of the verb. e.g. Je vais parler à Marie= I am going to talk to Mary.

4 The Future Tense The second way is to actually conjugate the verb with the corresponding endings. -ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont

5 The Future Tense For most verbs, attach the endings to the infinitive. These verbs are the –er and –ir verbs (e.g. habiter, manger, finir, choisir)

6 The Future Tense The –RE verbs though drop only the e from the infinitive ending. Here are some examples: Apprendre-> japprendrai Vendre -> je vendrai…. E.t.c
