2 The Next Cycle of Periodic Reporting
According to Article 29 of the Convention and para 199 to 210 of the Operational Guidelines Periodic Reporting serves the four following purposes: to provide an assessment of the application of the World Heritage Convention by the State Party to provide an assessment as to whether the outstanding universal value of the properties is being maintained over time to provide up-dated information about the properties to record their state of conservation and the changing circumstances to provide a mechanism for regional co-operation and exchange of information and experiences to ensure effective long term conservation of properties (para 202)

3 Le prochain cycle du rapport périodique
Selon l’article 29 de la Convention et le para des Orientations les quatre objectifs du Rapport périodique sont les suivants : fournir une étude sur l’application de la Convention du patrimoine mondial par l’Etat partie fournir une étude afin de déterminer si la valeur universelle exceptionnelle des biens est maintenue dans le temps fournir des informations à jour sur les biens afin d’enregistrer leur état de conservation et les changements de circonstances fournir un mécanisme de coopération régionale et d’échanger des informations et des expériences afin d’assurer une conservation efficace sur le long terme des biens (para 202)

To reaffirm Outstanding Universal Value as the corner stone of all World Heritage processes To link the different World Heritage processes To consolidate data through Retrospective Inventory To integrate all databases to offer a complete documentation on each property To simplify the questionnaire and the process for completing it

Objectives of the simplified PR questionnaire simplify the Periodic Reporting process update existing information assess state of OUV, state of conservation and current conditions assessment of the pertinence of the legal and management tools which maintain OUV conclusions leading to future actions
