3  From physical (such as fear of something dangerous).  From emotional (such as worry over the family or job).  By overwork (work or studies).  Anxiety about exams, money and job security.  Unemployment.  Such as being promoted at work.  Going to a new school Or Moving to a new house.  Getting married:are all a source of stress. Introduction : Many different things can cause stress:

Factors of stress at work A)- The principle sources of stress at work are:  Role demand – the particular role that a person plays in the firm can be a factor of stress.  Organizational structure – excessive rules and lack of participation in decision that affect an employee are some potential sources of stress. (consultation)-  Organizational leadership – some executive officers establish unrealistic pressures. (concurrence, a lot of tasks few employees)  Individual factors – problems with the family, partners, diseases.

Understanding the nature of stress A)- Human brain in response to stress :  Hormones: (including adrenaline and cortisol) Produced and secreted by the adrenal gland adrenaline( ‘Above the kidney) is secreted as a direct reaction to stressful situations. Adrenaline is released in both the brain and the body. It sharpens the senses, focuses attention, raises the level of fear, raises blood pressure, and in general prepares us for the worst.  Cortisol: like adrenaline is released during times of threat and is critical to survival. Cortisol redistributes the energy of our bodies when we are under attack; to help us survive, it suppresses functions that we do not need for immediatesurvival,includingreproduction,thebody’simmuneresponse, digestion, and the feeling of pain.

6 2. Understanding the nature of stress B)- Consequences : Cortisol can cause:  gastric ulcers(ST), thinning of the bones(Os), and brain damage. It causes also hyperglycemia(S) (steroid diabetes), immune suppression, and susceptibility to infections, depression and steroid psychoses.  Psychological trauma with a stress related mental disorder.  Depression.  Othersphysicalandmentalproblprobl ems:lossofappetite,inab ilityto concentrate, memory problems, aches and pains.

7 2. How to reduce stress at work. B)- Consequences :  Managing stress; we can reduce stress:  Listening relaxing music or having fun at the work place.  Doing aerobic activity or aromatherapy can be useful.  Doing relaxation techniques such as meditation, hypnosis, and biofeedback.  Expanding the social support network, therefore, can be a means for tension reduction.  Increasingcommunicationwithemployeesreducesambiguityandrole conflicts.  By giving these employees a voice in the decisions that directly affect their job performances.  Management can increase employe e control and reduce this role stress

8 Other solutions: Some companies organize holidays, or installing child care and fitness centers. Conclusion With only minor changes to our routine, we can feel happier, healthier, and be able to cope with more strain from the work life or studies. By identifying areas where we could apply a little improvement, we can find that we lose nothing and gain a much better perspective.
