Telling what belongs to you and others in French

2 Agreement A possessive adjective agrees in gender and number with the noun that it modifies. The possessive adjective agrees with the item owned, not the owner.

3 My Mon = masculine and singular or begins with a vowel
Ma = feminine and singular Mes = plural Ma voiture = my car

4 Your (singular/informal)
Ton = masculine and singular or begins with a vowel Ta = feminine and singular Tes = plural Ton chat = your cat

5 His/Her Son = masculine and singular or begins with a vowel
Sa = feminine and singular Ses = plural Ses soeurs = his/her sisters

6 Our Notre = masculine, feminine, or starts with a vowel and singular
Nos = plural Notre maison = our house

7 Your (plural/formal) Votre = masculine, feminine, or starts
with a vowel and singular Vos = plural Votre famille = your family

8 Their Leur = masculine, feminine, or starts with a vowel and singular
Leurs = plural Leur chien = their dog
