2 Fédération de l’Energie du Maroc: Brief overview.
The Federation of Energy is the representative and the spokesperson of companies and organizations operating in the energy sector. It acts as the privileged representative of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Sustainable Development and is, therefore, concerned by the implementation of national energy policies. The Federation is a proposal initiator in the national and international debates on energy. The Federation of Energy brings together all the sector actors: fuel and gas distributors, state producer and distributor, independent producers, state agencies, industries, R&D, services and financing organizations. The Federation of Energy was created in 2001 and is part of the federations of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco (CGEM). 3 Moroccan Energy Transition: Objectives
Respond to energy demand wich is increase by 6,5% per year in order to support the demographic, socioeconomic and industrial development of Morocco: The demand in primary energy will be tripled between 2008 and 2030; The demand in electrical energy will be quadrupled between 2008 and 2030. Reduction of the energy dependence to go from 98% in 2008 to 82% in 2030; Protect the environment and Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 42% in 2030: Moroccan NDCI acted in Paris agreement. 4 Moroccan Energy Transition: Strategy.
Diversification of the energy mix: Renewable energies, LNG, clean Coal, Fuel, etc. Development of the use of the Renewable Energy (Solar, Wind, Hydraulics and Biomass) with an objective which consists in carrying the part of the RENs in the installed electric capacity to 42 % in 2020 and to 52 % in 2030.  37% fin 2018 Gaz to Power Plan: 4 power plants CCGT for 4,8 GW between 2021 and 2030. Terminal et réseau GNL d’une capacité de 4,8 BCM par an; Alimentation par le Gazoduc Maghreb Europe ; Prospections prometteuses à l’est du pays (Tendrara). Adaptation of the legal and statutory framework. Loi Ouverture de la production de l’électricté au secteur privé; Loi portant creation de l’AMEE; Création de l’Agence Nationale de Régulation du secteur de l’Electricité. Etc. Energy efficiency with an objective of 20% economy in 2030, Targeting the main energy-consuming sectors, Transport, Industry, Building, Agriculture, and Street lighting. Regional integration of electricity networks: Strengthening of the existing interconnections: Algeria and Spain; Realization of new interconnections: Portugal, Mauritania.  This important and ambitious program lead to a real and various opportunities of Regional Cooperation for the National and International private sector, in the energy domain, estimated at 40 MM $US for the next 15 years, among which ¾ in renewable energies. These investments opportunities will concern different sectors at all levels of chain value: Power plants: Fossils sources, Renewable Energy, LNG. Networks of electric transport. Energy efficiency equipments and solutions. We strongly beleive that the regional intégration and coopération is one of the keys succes of this plan.  One of the main objectives, at medium-term, for the Moroccan Federation of the Energy is to create a Regional Confederation of Energy wich will ghater a large panel of Federations and Associations wich operate in energy sector, in order to support the development of regional energy markets.  A reflexion on this topic was launched with UfM.
