2 Reminder…where do adjectives usually go in French? Answer: After the noun

3 EXCEPTION Actually, there are a few adjectives that go before the noun. There is an easy way to remember them though.

4 Remember the word - BAGS B A G S - beauty - age - goodness - size

5 Beauty beau – C’est un beau garçon. belle – C’est une belle fille. joli(e) – C’est une jolie fille.

6 Age jeune – C’est un jeune garçon. jeune – C’est une jeune fille. There are two other adjectives (old and new) that fit here. We will learn them later.

7 Goodness bon (good - masculine) – Je mange un bon sandwich. Bonne (good – feminine) – Tu es une bonne amie. mauvais(e) (bad) – Joseph est un mauvais étudiant.

8 Size grand (e) – J’habite dans une grande maison. petit(e) – J’ai une petite voiture.

9 Try a few on your own. I have a good dog. You have a small calculator. We have a pretty cat. They have a bad motorcycle. J’ai un bon chien. Tu as une petite calculatrice. Nous avons un joli chat. Ils ont une mauvaise moto.
