12 Embedding the language
Print out the vocabulary slides to use as French day of the week classroom signs. Ask pupils to pick the correct one each day. Ask, “C’est quel jour?” at the start of each day and get pupils to say the day of the week.

13 Sample activities You will find a bank of sample activities which you can use to practise the vocabulary in the classroom. This is not a prescriptive list of activities and you can use or adapt them to suit the needs of your class.

Rhyme to practice learning the days in sequence. You can use them as you would for counting games.

17 C’est quel jour? 1 Pupils should look at the slides, listen to the day of the week in French and try and match the day of the week to the correct word in English. You could support this further by using day of the week fans so that pupils could do their own individual version.

23 C’est quel jour? 2 Pupils should look at the slides and try and guest which day of the week it is hidden behind the question mark. To support this they could have days of the week on cards in front of them.

35 Days of the week activities.
Pupils look at the following slides and say which day of the week they might do the different activities on. There are no right or wrong answers! You could have the days of the week written on cards so that the pupils could select the correct days depending on the picture. To say everyday it’s, “tous les jours!”
