WBF XML WG Summary and Objectives  The ISA S88.02 and ISA /2 standards have defined data models for batch control and manufacturing to business integration. Since the development of these standards XML has emerged as the leading method for application integration. The purpose of this working group is to bring these two together by implementing the standard data models in XML schemas. This is intended to enable the use of the ISA 88 and 95 standards in a wider range of applications. The aim of this working group is to produce a set of XML schemas for the data models defined in ISA S88.02 and ISA /2. The resulting XML schemas will find application in education, training and vendor solutions. The schemas should be widely and freely available to industry. WBF XML WG Scope and deliverables Set of XML schemas representing the data models in S88.02 Set of XML schemas representing the data models in ISA /2 Mapping of the XML schemas to selected manufacturing related XML initiatives, such as the Open Applications Group (OAG), BizTalk, and OASIS. Investigation of submission of the XML schemas to standards organizations. Make the XML schemas publicly available through the WBF web site and by submission to selected XML initiatives. The XML schemas will be copyrighted by the WBF but will be made freely available for any use.
