Les verbes en “er” Infinitive is the basic form of the verb. This is the form you find when you look up a verb in the dictionary. ex. Parler, jouer, habiter, etc. -Name some ER verbs you have already learnt in course.

How to conjugate ER verbs Remove the “ER” from the infinitive to form the stem (the stem is the part that stays the same for each subject) Ex. ParlerParl=stem Habiter Habit=stem Aimer Aim=stem Add the correct ending that goes with each subject (jee, tues, il/elle/one, nous ons, vous ez, ils/ellesent)

Example of ER verb conjugated Ex. Chanter Je chante Nous chantons Tu chantes Vous chantez Il/Elle/On chante Ils/Elles chantent **Note: Je becomes J’ before a vowel sound. Ex. J’habite.
