The subjunctive is used after the following conjunctions: bien que although pourvu que provided that à moins que* unless sans que without pour que so that avant que* before jusqu’à ce que until *These conjunctions will sometimes be followed by ne, however this does not indicate a negation.

Examples: Je serai à la fête à moins que ma mère ne me dise <<non>>. Nous arriverons avant que tu ne finisses.

When the subject of each clause remains the same, pour que, sans que, avant que, and à moins que become: pour sans avant de à moins de + infinitive Examples: Nous étudions pour apprendre. Je te téléphonerai avant de sortir.
