A smile does not cost anything, yet it produces a great deal.

It enriches the person who receives it without impoverishing the person who gives it.

It lasts only a few moments, but may remain in memory for ever.

Nobody is rich enough to live without it.

Nobody is poor enough not to merit it.

It produces happiness at home and sustains businesses.

It is the sensitive sign of friendship.

A smile brings rest to the weary.

Il donne du courage au plus découragé. It gives courage to the most discouraged.

It can not be bought, nor can it be loaned, not even stolen.

As it is something which has value only from the moment it is given. Car c'est une chose qui n'a de valeur qu'à partir du moment où il se donne. As it is something which has value only from the moment it is given.

And if sometimes you meet someone who no longer knows how to smile, be generous, give him yours.
