Qu’est-ce que c’est? Le passé composé is a past tense; It is used to express a completed action in the past; There are two parts to the passé composé: A/ an auxiliary verb (avoir or être) B/ a past participle (participe passé) This is a verb form that can never stand alone as a verb.
