Exam Strategies Remember to pay close attention to verb endings and adjectival agreement. Recognise cognates, Learn family of words (positive / negative, antonyms) Strategies for dealing with long texts and questions in French; breaking long sentences and questions into smaller components. Remember that if the question is in French, the answer must also be in French. Likewise, answers to English questions should be written in English. Before attempting a text containing unfamiliar language, analyse the type of text and look for picture clues, familiar words and cognates.
