Mercredi le 19 mars 2014 Between 1802 and 1804, under the reign of Napoleon 1st- a nine-arch metallic bridge for pedestrians was constructed at the location of the present day Pont des Arts: this was the first metal bridge in Paris. I The bridge has sometimes served as a place for art exhibitions, and is today a studio en plein air for painters, artists, or photographers who are drawn to its unique point of view. The Pont des Arts is also frequently a spot for picnics during the summer. n recent years, many tourist couples have taken to attaching padlocks with their first names written or engraved on it to the railing or the grate on the side of the bridge, then throwing the key into the Seine river below, as a romantic gesture. This gesture is said to represent a couple's committed love.

F 3: Manet-Un Bar aux Folies-Bergère A Bar at the Folies-Bergère, painted and exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1882, was the last major work by French painter Édouard Manet. It depicts a scene in the Folies Bergère nightclub in Paris.

F 2 PreAP & F 3- 5 expressions: 1. OH LÀ LÀ! (The French phrase oh là là isn't so much an expression as an interjection. It can indicate surprise, disappointment, commiseration, distress, annoyance... any moderately strong reaction to something that was just said or done. Note that there is no connotation of sexiness or impropriety in French.*) Oh La Vache! (phooey!Fiddlesticks. Darn it. Heck. Dang it! Disgusted, frustrated, annoyed, irked, fed up. It is not a curse word) 2.ENCHANTÉ (Definition: (adj) - enchanted, delighted, "nice to meet you“) 3.JE NE SAIS PAS (Definition: I don’t know. In French, negation normally requires two words: ne before the verb and something like pas or rien after it. So "I don't know" is je ne sais pas and "I didn't do anything" is je n'ai rien fait. In informal spoken French, however, ne is nearly always dropped, so it's perfectly normal to hear je sais pas and j'ai rien fait). 4.AU SECOURS! (Definition: aid, help, assistance Il nous faut demander du secours - We need to ask for help.) 5.FÉLICITATIONS! (Definition: congratulations! Chapeau!-(more informal…like kudos!)

F 3: Demain dès l'aube is one of French writer Victor Hugo's more famous poems. It was published in his 1865 collection Les Contemplations. It consists of three quatrines of rhyming Alexandrines. The poem describes a visit to his daughter Léopoldine 's grave.

Tomorrow at dawn- BD :http://ecolechataigniers. cattenieres Tomorrow, at dawn, the moment the countryside is washed with daylight, I will leave. You see, I know that you wait for me. I will go through forest, I will go across the mountains. I cannot rest far from you for long. I will trudge on, my eyes fixed on my thoughts, Without seeing what is outside of myself, without hearing a single sound, Alone, unknown, back bent, hands crossed, Sad, and the day for me will be like the night. I will not look upon the golden sunset as night falls, Nor the sailboats from afar that descend on Harfleur, And when I arrive, I will place on your grave A bouquet of holly and heather in bloom.

His brief career influenced the development of such artistic movements as Futurism, Cubism, Dadaism, and Surrealism, and the legend of his personality—bohemian artist, raconteur, gourmand, soldier—became the model for the avant-garde. In this poem, he speaks with lyyrics and a melancholy charm of simple emotions while innovating the absence of punctuation.

F 3---THE MIRABEAU BRIDGE Guillaume Apollinaire trans. A. S. Kline Under the Mirabeau flows the Seine And our amours Shall I remember it again Joy always followed after Pain Comes the night sounds the hour The days go by I endure Hand in hand rest face to face While underneath The bridge of our arms there races So weary a wave of eternal gazes Love vanishes like the water’s flow Love vanishes How life is slow And how Hope lives blow by blow Let the hour pass the day the same Time past returns Nor love again Under the Mirabeau flows the Seine

A calligram is a poem phrase, or word in which the typeface, calligraphy or handwriting is arranged in a way that creates a visual image. The image created by the words expresses visually what the word, or words, say. In a poem, it manifests visually the theme presented by the text of the poem. Guillaume Apollinaire was a famous calligram writer and author of a book of poems called Calligrammes. His poem written in the form of the Eiffel Tower is an example of a calligram.
