Les Mots Intérrogatifs
Transcription de la présentation:

Les Mots Interrogatifs Qui? Que? Quand?

Les mots interrogatifs We are already familiar with several words used for asking information questions: Comment t’appelles-tu? How do you call yourself? D’où viens-tu? Where do you come from? Quand va-t-il? When is he going?

Les adverbes interrogatifs… Comment? Combien? Quand? Où? D’où? Pourquoi? These are adverbs because they modify a verb

Les pronoms intérrogatifs… Qui? Que? Quoi? These are pronouns because they could be replaced with a noun.

Note that “que” becomes “quoi” after a verb: About “quoi” Note that “que” becomes “quoi” after a verb: Que cherches-tu? Tu cherches quoi?

Les adjectifs intérrogatifs… Quel (s) / le(s)? All forms are pronounced “kell” These are used with a noun to ask “what” or “which.”

Par example… ______ est le nom de ton prof? What’s the name of your teacher? __________ sont tes livres? Which (ones) are your books?

Par example… ______ es du Sénégal? * Who is from Senegal? _______ fais-tu? What are you doing?

Par example… __________ de devoirs il y a dans la classe de français? How much homework is there in French class? ___________ tu pleures? Why are you crying?

J’ai une question… Charles est dans la librairie. s v There are several ways to ask a question in French, besides using question-asking words. One way is to simply place the subject after the verb, and change the inflection of your voice: Charles est dans la librairie. s v Est-ce que Charles est dans la librairie ? v s

Autre question… Il y a une fête demain. Il y a une fête demain? Sometimes the written question marks and the rising tone of the speaker’s voice alone may indicate the difference between a statement and a question: Il y a une fête demain. Il y a une fête demain?

Encore une question… Il y a une fête aujourd’hui, n’est-ce-pas? Sometimes you can add a tag word such as non? or n’est-ce-pas? to the end of a sentence, much as you might add no?, right?, etc., in English: Il y a une fête aujourd’hui, n’est-ce-pas? There is a party at school today, right? Pierre est malade, non? Pedro is sick, no?

Questions et réponses… When answering questions, pay attention to the verb form. The verb form in the answer will be based on the question. If the question is asked of you, the answer is in the I form. If the question asks about him, then the answer is also about him, etc. EVERY sentence (answer) must have a subject and a verb.

Réponse Question je tu/vous tu je il / elle / on il / elle / on /vous nous nous / vous vous Je / nous ils / elles ils / elles

Et la réponse est… Tu étudies beaucoup? A quelle heure vont-ils à l’école? Est-ce-qu’il y a des devoirs dans la classe de français? Elles parlent trop en classe, n’est-ce-pas? Quand allons-nous au cinéma? Est-ce-que je peux aller aux toilettes? Vous dansez souvent?

Terminé…
