Safety in the Science Lab

Today: LAB SAFETY Bell Work Pick up and silently read the lab safety contract. Copy down the agenda and homework in your planner. Prepare your foldable. Cut along BOLD lines. Fold along dotted lines. Ecrire devoirs dans votre agenda : Demandez aux parents de signer le contrat de sécurité en laboratoire . Préparer l'activité pliable: Coupez le long des lignes audacieuses et pliez le long des lignes pointillées .

Rule #1: NO fooling around! Règle 1: NO chahut dans le laboratoire ALWAYS follow directions. LISTEN to your teacher. RESPECT those around you.

Rule #2: Do not eat or drink in the lab! Règle 2: Ne pas manger ou boire en laboratoire There are chemicals in a lab that can be on the table tops. Never eat or drink in the lab to prevent yourself from coming in contact with dangerous substances!

Rule #3: Report any accidents Règle 3: Rapport tout accidents If a glass breaks or a chemical spills, you must report it to the teacher. Never cover up a chemical spill. Never try to clean a chemical spill.

Rule #4: Use your safety gear! Doit utiliser des lunettes de protection pendant laboratoire Wear your lab apron, safety glasses or goggles and gloves when needed. You may not perform an experiment without the proper safety equipment.
