FLASH! Power Point Sample

Use FLASH! with any level I put a variety of topics in here so you can see how to make a FLASH! with different levels of learners.

For the FLASH! sections, you would use 8-10 slides. Under the “Transitions” Tab, set the “Advance Slide” at about 6 seconds. Or use a clicker.

The first set of FLASH! Pictures are Either / Or sentences (reflexives in passé composé). Teacher reads both choices, then class answers.

Je me suis amusé? / Je me suis fâché?

Tu t’es bronzé? / Tu t’es marié?

Elle s’est lavée? / Elle s’est réveillée?

Nous nous sommes dépêchés? Nous nous sommes levés?

Vous vous êtes cassé le bras? Vous vous êtes cassé le nez?

Ils se sont rasés? / Ils se sont cachés?

The next set of FLASH! pictures are Either / Or reflexive verbs in the negative passé composé

Elles se sont disputées? Elles ne se sont pas disputées?

Je me suis amusé? Je ne me suis pas amusé?

Nous nous sommes couchés? Nous ne nous sommes pas couchés?

The next set of FLASH! pictures are “guided” short answer, to practice the formation of reflexives in the passé composé.

Répondez en français  

Qu’est-ce qu’elle a fait? Elle s’est…

Qu’est-ce que nous avons fait? Nous nous sommes…

Qu’est-ce que tu as fait? Je me suis…

The next set of slides give the students one minute to talk about the picture in the passé composé, with images that would evoke reflexive verbs.

Utilisez cette image et parlez au Passé Composé pendant UNE minute, avec un partenaire. (His name? Why was he hurrying? What time did he get up? What did he do this morning? Where was he going?, etc

Utilisez cette image et parlez au Passé Composé pendant UNE minute, avec un partenaire.

Writing The next set of pictures prep French 1 students to do a short writing activity about the seasons.

Listening Quiz Listen as Jean-Luc talks about the seasons. Write words that you hear, in the appropriate category. Season Weather Clothing Activity Months

Talk about this picture in French, with a partner. Location, season, weather, month. Wearing, clothing, colors. Doing, saying, feeling, holding. Any other details!!

Timed Writing: 6 minutes - 60 words Tell what is going on or write a short story about this picture! Include as many details as you can. (Who? What? Where? When? Why? How?) (Doing? Saying? Feeling? Wearing? Emotions? Weather?)

Vocab Practice The next set of slides shows ways to practice vocabulary. This could also be used with verbs or grammatical structures.

Vocab Practice On the next slide are 16 pictures of food. 1. The Teacher says the vocab word and calls on a student to give the # for that image. 2. Then, the students work in partners, doing the same thing. 3. Finally, the teacher gives the # and calls on a student to give the vocab word.

Memory Game There were 16 pictures on the previous slide. How many can you write, in French?? Work alone or with a partner.

Jeu de La Tapette (Fly-Swatter Game) Use the previous slide with all the pictures to play the Fly Swatter game.

What’s Missing? The next set of slides are for practicing vocabulary and a grammatical structure. French 1 students are practicing how to say “There aren’t any…” with “de” and Classroom Objects.

What’s missing? On the following slides, one object is taken away each time. Students work with a partner and tell what is missing.

Dans la salle de classe
