Je suis plus grande que __________ (person 1’s name) Pour pratiquer In groups of 3 decide to represent a scenario in which one of you is ‘more’ or ‘less’ something than another. The 3rd person has to be the ‘most’ of that thing. A simple example could be to arrange yourselves in height order and have the 3 people say: Je suis grande Je suis plus grande que __________ (person 1’s name) Je suis le/la plus grand/e. ‘théâtre physique’ was something I used last year with the lowest set as part of a cross-curricular project with a drama ITT. The techniques really worked to ‘fix’ the learning in their memories and really engaged them actively. It’s always nice when you can ‘borrow’ concepts and terminology from another subject, especially one that for most pupils has positive associations like drama. You have 6 minutes to decide on your ‘freeze frame’ scenario and practise your sentences. Then each group will perform their to the rest of the group.

1 2 3 4 Plenary activity – pupils refer to their vocabulary notes and come up with 5 comparative phrases of their own. Teachers to check carefully that pupils are secure with how to formulate these sentences and are happy with adjectival agreement rules. 5 .
