The story of 20th-century music began on the slave plantations of the Southern United states. Masters thought that slaves could use drums to send messages to each other and organize a revolt. Which instrument mustn't you play? Their song took the traditional ‘call and response’ style of much African singing. L’histoire de Moïse : Les hébreux de cette époque sont considérés comme des esclaves et travaillent à la construction des villes de Pi-Ramsès et de Pithom. Moise, élevé par les Egyptiens se rebelle en voyant l'un des siens frappé par un chef de chantier Egyptien. Il est contraint de quitter l'Egypte pour échapper à la justice. Au cours d'une longue période d'exil, le pharaon d'Egypte meurt et Moise peut enfin revenir en Egypte réclamer à Mineptah la permission de faire sortir son peuple d'Egypte pour aller prier le dieu unique : Yahvé. Le pharaon furieux, double les corvées des hébreux. Moise lui présente une nouvelle fois sa requête, mais le pharaon refuse. Dieu déclenche alors sa colère contre pharaon. Il abat sur l'Egypte une série de terribles fléaux au terme desquels pharaon fini par céder et laisse partir le peuple hébreu. Arrivé devant la mer des joncs, Moise et son peuple poursuivi par Pharaon et son armée traverse celle-ci entre deux murs d'eau qui se rabattent sur le pharaon et le tuent.
