Chèvre, cheval, mouche, chauve-souris Teacher Instructions Action Song Les chanimaux Show slide 2. Pupils look up all animal words in the dictionary and work out which grapheme they all have in common. Show slide 3 to reveal all the animal names that contain the target phoneme / grapheme. Each animal replaces a body part from the song, “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”. (“Eyes and Ears and Mouth and Nose”) (see slide 4). Slowly introduce each animal with lots of repetition until pupils are joining in with all of them. Start singing the animal names to the tune of ”Head, Shoulders… “ and encourage pupils to join in the actions and the singing when they feel ready.
