The Bottom Line We want to develop a way for others to have a similar touring of the province experience that we did. We want to give others an opportunity to show their pride in the province and to brag about its success stories. We want to give people an opportunity to share their stories and to learn about and from each other. Our New Brunswick / Notre Nouveau-Brunswick Our New Brunswick / Notre Nouveau-Brunswick was born!

The WHAT Project Definition: Facilitating the creation and exchange of short-films between groups of students that explore the past, present, and future of NB communities. Pilot project with six to eight groups / classes of Grade 7 students Professional mentorship provided by members of the Film community Wrap-up event before the end of the school year to allow participants to interact

The WHY Our mission: To promote positive and progressive collaboration between New Brunswick youth by encouraging dialogue, education, and celebration of our province and its diverse people and communities. Our vision: A place where New Brunswick youth can celebrate and share in their successes and the accomplishments of their neighbours.

Notre mission: Promouvoir un esprit de collaboration chez les jeunes néo- brunswickois en rendant possible un dialogue, un apprentissage et une célébration commune de la province, de ses communautés et des personnes diverses. The SO WHAT? After the completion of the pilot project, we will be able to ask “what next?” How can we go one, two, or three steps further with the short films? How can we make the project continue to grow? Our New Brunswick/ Notre Nouveau Brunswick How can we make Our New Brunswick / Notre Nouveau Brunswick bigger and better? We don’t celebrate enough of each other’s communities and victories… Let’s give students an opportunity to discover and showcase their provincial pride!

Summary Our New Brunswick / Notre Nouveau Brunswick Our project, Our New Brunswick / Notre Nouveau Brunswick, is based on the bus tour of New Brunswick that we experienced ONB / NNB encourages NB youth to learn about and celebrate our province by developing short videos We are doing it to promote provincial pride Our pilot project that runs during the 2008 / 2009 academic year focuses on six to eight Grade 7 classes from throughout NB We are partnering with schools and the NB Film community to make this a success We endeavor for it to keep people in a vibrant and positive NB
