Point out person(s), place(s) or thing(s) referred to. They always agree in number and gender with the noun they modify. Always come in front of the noun.

Singular Plural ce (cet*) cette ces Masculine Feminine “Cet” is used before a masculine singular noun that begins with Vowel or vowel sound. When speaking, link the final “t” of “cet” with the vowel that follows.

Cet homme est professeur. This (that) man is a teacher. Ce garçon apprend le français. This (that) boy is learning French. Ces biscuits ne sont pas bons. These (those) cookies are not good.

She likes that chocolate cake. That salesclerk (male) hears the comment. Je veux cette robe jaune. Elle aime ce gâteau au chocolat. Ce vendeur entend le commentaire. 4. We prefer those brown shoes. 7 Repeat the demonstrative adjective before each noun
J’aime cet appartement et cette maison. Ces hommes et ces femmes sortent en boîte ce soir

8 If you must distinguish between “this” and “that”
Add the tag “-ci” (from the word “ici”) to mean “this” and “these” Add the tag “-là” (from the word “là”) to mean “that” and “those”
