This resource has been created through the LinkedUp Award Scheme. le 5 août L’accident minier de Copiapó était un effondrement, qui est arrivé le 5 août 2010 dans la mine de cuivre de San José au nord de Copiapó au Chili. Cet accident a laissé 33 mineurs bloqués sous terre. Initialement considérés comme morts, les mineurs ont pu trouver un refuge de sécurité dans la mine. Ils avaient 3 jours de nourriture maximum, donc ils ont partagé les rations de thon, de biscuits et de lait. Ils se sont rationnés en eau – ce qui doit avoir été très difficile, parce qu’il faisait 35°C dans le tunnel. This resource has been created through the LinkedUp Award Scheme. le 23 août Le président Sebastian Pinera a montré à la télévision chilienne un bout de papier, ramené par un tube de forage, sur lequel était écrit à l'encre rouge : « Nous, les 33 mineurs, allons bien dans notre refuge» Les 33 mineurs coincés depuis 17 jours au fond de la mine étaient tous vivants! Mais, les sauveteurs ont estimé qu’il faudrait encore 4 mois pour les ramener à la surface. Six secouristes sont descendus dans la mine dans la nacelle ‘Phénix’. Ils ont décidé l’ordre de sortie des mineurs. Il a fallu entre 15 et 20 minutes pour chaque mineur d’atteindre la surface. On avait prévu 48 heures pour les faire sortir, mais l’opération s’est déroulée en 24 heures. Ils étaient accueillis dans le froid du désert d'Atacama par leurs familles et le président chilien Sebastian Piñera. Cet épisode a mis fin à la plus longue captivité souterraine de l'histoire de l'humanité.
