2 For some stem changing verbs
Let’s use acheter as an example. What does it mean? To buy, that’s right. So you take off the –er and you are left with??? Achet So what do you do now?

3 You add the following endings for each subject pronoun.
Tu Il e es -e Nous Vous Ils - ons - ez - ent

4 But wait you aren’t done yet!
Remember these are stem changing verbs. The endings are the same as the regular –er verbs but the stem changes in some of the forms! Think of a boot.

5 So what do you think this means?
Right only the forms in the box have a change in their “stem.” Je Nous Tu Vous Il Ils

6 So the change in the stem is
e changes to è Je Nous Tu Vous Il Ils

7 Je Tu Il achète achètes Nous Vous Ils achetons achetez achètent

9 Je Tu Il préfère préfères Nous Vous Ils préférons préférez préfèrent
Verbes like préférer also follow this pattern except the é changes to è inside the boot. Je Tu Il préfère préfères Nous Vous Ils préférons préférez préfèrent

10 Je Tu Il répète répètes Nous Vous Ils préférons préférez répètent
The verb répéter follows the same pattern as préférer so what would the forms be? Je Tu Il répète répètes Nous Vous Ils préférons préférez répètent
