4 2 L’imparfait 1.Along with the passé composé and several other tenses, the imperfect tense is used to describe past events. First, review the forms of the imperfect tense. To get the stem for the imperfect, you take the nous form of the present tense and drop the -ons ending. The imperfect endings are then added to this stem. Leçon 2, Conversation
