Lesson plan 1. Pupils settle – Objectives and success criteria explained 2. I say the difficult sounds with two examples and pupils repeat without seeing the written version. Then I show them the written version to compare with sound. They now apply the rule to other sets of examples. Extension: They find other examples 3. Dictation on Jeanne D’Arc – they write, then compare their mistakes with their partner. They talk about their successes and failures. 4. Pause: students reflect on the sounds that they have learnt to recognise in the previous exercises. They reflect on a range of activities inside and outside the classroom, that could help them improve in identifying those sounds. 5. We now embark on the problem of the French liaison. Listen and look at these pairs as the teacher says them. What do you notice? Discussion in pairs. Try out those two differentiated examples. Can you find other examples?
