 Highlight the speaker’s strengths  Offer some suggestions to help the speaker grow

 Highlight the speaker’s strengths as they relate to the purpose of the speech  Offer suggestions that will help the speaker develop their skills to the highest possible level related to the purpose of the speech

 The role of a master evaluator is to push the speech beyond what the speaker thought it could be.  The evaluation uses both sides of the brain: the analytical left and the creative right  The evaluation has a tight and narrow focus designed to sharpen the speaker’s skills to their highest level.

 Inform  Entertain  Persuade  Inspire

 Concrete and specific  Related to speaker’s objectives or speech purpose  Illustrate with examples from the speech

 Most important manual objective (unless greatest strength)  Specific objective (personal challenge, second-greatest strength)  Greatest strength (you anchor your growth points to this one)

1. You are a very skilled speech writer. The speech is well-organized and your argument is very logical. (illustrate with examples) 2. The subject matter of the speech addresses the needs of this particular audience and is timely and relevant. (illustrate with examples) 3. You are very charismatic. Your facial expressions, gestures, eye contact and confidence are very powerful tools for persuasion.

 Comportement (Ce que vous observez)  Impact (Ce que vous avez ressenti)  Modification (Ce que vous suggérez pour améliorer l’impact)  Effet (L’effet qu’aura la modification)  Behaviour (you observed)  Impact (it had on you)  Modification (suggest to improve impact it had)  Outcome (how the modification changes the impact)
