39 Activité Your friends in French 2, 3, and 4 made books for you guys to read! Your table is going to get 2 or 3 books each. Work with the person sitting to your right and read the book together as best as you can. Your task is to write down at least 2 sentences from each book that you read that you found amusing, confusing, or you think was written incorrectly. Share a paper with your reading buddy (this will be turned in!) When you are done with a book, switch with another group at your table group. Try and switch with your group and other tables as much as you can!

41 Showing Possession Possessive Determiners These determiners refer to what a subject pronoun possesses, which in English would be my/ you/ his/ her/our/your/their. Since French gives a gender of either masculine or feminine to all nouns, these determiners come in various forms to accommodate gender as well as number.

46 TRÈS IMPORTANT: French does not differentiate between his mother and her mother; the choice of the possessive determiner depends solely on the following noun, the possession. The mother (which is la mère) is what belongs to someone in this example, so the gender of whose mother it is does not matter.
