9 Up Grade Release 1.2 Décembre 2007

10 Up Grade Release 1.3 Juin 2008 Améliorations apportées :

Any digital channel may be set as the Revert Channel, including the channel indicated by the radio's channel selector. This feature assigns an available digital channel as the GPS Revert channel for the current selected channel. A GPS revert channel is the designated channel on which automatic GPS updates are transmitted on when GPS and ARS are enabled on the radio. This reduces traffic on a channel and allows the channel to accommodate more voice transmissions. The radio performs this action by automatically switching to the GPS revert channel before transmitting a GPS update, and switching back when the update is completed. By default, the GPS revert channel is the selected (Home) channel. An applicable digital channel can be used as GPS Revert for multiple channels. Voice traffic is discouraged on revert channels. This is a channel-wide feature.

Communications such a presence, location requests (application server to SU), text and voice occur on the Selected Channel, while all location responses (SU to application server) including location updates occur on the GPS Revert Channel. Under a typical scenario, the SU is powered on, and then registers on the Selected Channel with the Presence Notifier and the Location Server. The SU receives a Periodic Location Request and an Emergency Location Request from the Location Server on the Selected Channel. This Periodic Location Request instructs the SU to send location updates at a specific rate, while the Emergency Location Request instructs the SU to send a single Emergency Location Update when an emergency is initiated. The SU spends the most time on the Selected Channel. The SU only switches to the GPS Revert Channel when a Location Update needs to be transmitted. Since voice transmissions have priority over data transmissions, when the SU is involved in a call on the Selected Channel, the Location Update is queued until after the call is completed.

16 Release 1.4 …. Le multisite

17 La dénomination commerciale du multisite MOTOTRBO est :
IP Site Connect

18 MOTOTRBO IP Site Connect: Fonctionnalités
Permet d'interconnecter jusqu'à 15 relais en numérique en IP Augmente la zone de couverture Diagnostique et contrôle à distance les alarmes Changement de site automatique The repeaters are often referred to as “Peers” in the IP Site Connect System. The Remote Diagnostics Alarms & Controls (RDAC) is considered one of those peers. Subscribers will be able to automatically roam between sites and choose which channel to communicate on. Design considerations are discussed later. Overview of the difference between a Local Area Channel and a Wide Area Channel

The subscribers can be configured with a roam list that contains a list of channel that identify the sites. Each channel equals one site (one repeater) of a wide area system. The radio will scan through the list of sites and select the one with the strongest signal. -This channel becomes the radios home site until the signal strength falls below a programmable value. This value is set in the CPS and is the RSSI threshold setting Once that RSSI reaches below threshold, sub will look for new channel The subscriber will then move to the next home site if its signal is above the programmed threshold value The subscriber can NOT roam while in a call. MOTOTRBO radios already have a transmit Time Out Timer. Default is 60 seconds, maximum is 495 seconds (8.25 min)

20 MOTOTRBO aujourd'hui: Canal Mono site
Local Slot 1 Local Slot 2 Local Slot Local Slot Local Slot Local Slot Wide Area Channels are those repeater slots that are linked via the IP Site Connect feature. When a new call starts at one of the channel slots of a repeater, the repeater sends the call to all the repeaters. All the repeaters repeat that call on their corresponding channel slot. This allows a radio in the coverage area of any repeater to participate in the call. Exemple : 3 relais, 6 canaux locaux indépendants

21 MOTOTRBO IP Site Connect: Canal Multi site
INTERNET Local Slot Wide Slot Local Slot Wide Slot Local Slot Wide Slot Wide Area Channels are those repeater slots that are linked via the IP Site Connect feature. When a new call starts at one of the channel slots of a repeater, the repeater sends the call to all the repeaters. All the repeaters repeat that call on their corresponding channel slot. This allows a radio in the coverage area of any repeater to participate in the call. => 3 relais, 3 canaux locaux indépendants, 1 canal commun multisite (internet)

22 MOTOTRBO IP Site Connect: Canal Multi site

This allows a radio in the coverage area of any repeater to participate in the call.

INTERNET Local Area Channel Wide Area Channel Local Area Channel Wide Area Channel Groupe C Groupe B Groupe C Groupe A Local Area Channel are NOT connected to a Wide Area Network and therefore remain local use channels. They appear and act as single site repeater channels. End users have the ability to talk across geographical disconnected sites AND the local site on the SAME repeater.

24 MOTOTRBO IP Site Connect: RDAC Remote Diagnostic Access Contol
Diagnostique du relais Alarmes & Contrôles Actif/Inactif Puissance émise (Haute/Basse) Température (Surchauffe) Défaut secteur Changement de canal Activation / Désactivation Diagnostique localement via prise USB ou via le réseau IP Contrôle de tous les relais via IP Repeater Diagnostics, Alarms, and Control (or RDAC) allows a system administrator the ability to monitor and control repeaters within the system via a software program provided by Motorola This list is only a sampling of features. Full list will be disclosed during 1.4 release. RDAC can be configured to be used locally via USB or over the network via IP. If used over the network it is possible to monitor all repeaters in the entire wide area system Repeater Diagnostics Enable/disable Transmit power (high/low) Repeater Alarm Reporting Overheating AC Power failure Repeater Controls Change channels Reset / knock down

25 MOTOTRBO IP Site Connect: Mise à niveau
If an end user requires the alarms for main fan failure and AC power supply failure with switching battery revert. In this instance a small board will have to be added to repeaters that were purchased prior to the 1.4 release To enable the repeaters they MUST be upgraded and reprogrammed. While SOME radio features may work- its HIGHLY recommended that subscribers be upgraded. Data applications of single site configuration are fully compatible with the IP Site Connect configuration.

26 MOTOTRBO IP SITE CONNECT: Topologies Réseaux
Topologies de réseaux supportés pour la connexion des sites Réseaux locaux privés (LANs) Réseaux étendu (WAN) (Interconnexion de plusieurs LAN) Liaisons E1 Privées ADSL Canopy RNIS / ISDN Protocole de commutation "Frame Relay" (Relayage de trames) The largest benefit of IP Site Connect is the ability to connect sites over public Internet Service Providers (ISP) links as well as private high speed connections. Because the RF coverage radius exceeds most network cabling limits, we can assume that most networks will be composed of both local area networks and wide area network components. Listed are the supported network topologies. Dial-Up is not supported because bandwidth requirements will exceed those provided. Satellite links are not supported because of round-trip link delays.
