Conceptual framework Why? Following UNSCR 2112 (2013) and in the context of transition planning, generate an integrated framework for UNOCI action in support of SSR implementation How? 1.Improve UNOCI interventions as per UNSCR 2112 (2013) and in line with the MIP 2.Facilitate multi-stakeholder engagement in SSR UNOCI
Overview of the SSR Strategy (I) Strategic objective Deliver a coordinated and coherent support to the implementation of the National SSR Strategy in line with UNSCR 2112 (2013): at the strategic level - strengthening the SRSG's good offices at technical level - achieving unity of effort and vision within the UN Strategic outcomes Contribute to the setting up of efficient and accountable security institutions in an enhanced rule of law environment Promote national reconciliation, democratic oversight and enhanced coordination among SSR stakeholders UNOCI

New mandate: key areas of engagement Strategic review of the collaboration framework between UNOCI and the S-CNS: focus on the National Security Strategy, SSR decentralization, capacity building and advocacy for political reconciliation Support Police reform through joint UNOCI-UNCT initiatives, in the greater framework of SSR decentralization Coordination: empower the National Security Council to coordinate SSR efforts; Create synergies within the UN system and develop sustainable coordination mechanisms with all SSR stakeholders UNOCI
