The "mouled" is a religious festival where the birth of the Prophet Muhammad is celebrated. In Tunisia, we prepare "assida", a kind of cream whose ingredients differents from one region to another: the assida of Z'gougou is the most popular. Mouled The mouled is also an opportunity to exchange visits between families and neighbors. The custom is that every woman must offer a bowl of assida to her mother-in-law, her mother, other members of her family as well as to her neighbors. It is also a good opportunity to celebrate the engagement and circumcision parties.
