 Introduction.  Definition of culture.  Definition of Japanese culture : o Food and Drink o Anime and manga o Music and Clothes  Conclusion.

 Culture is the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, encompassing language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music and arts.

 Japan has a fascinating and multifaceted culture; on the one hand it is steeped in the deepest of traditions dating back thousands of years; on the other it is a society in a continual state of rapid flux, with continually shifting fads and fashions and technological development that constantly pushes back the boundaries of the possible. This is part of what makes it such a fascinating country to visit.

 Anime is a particular style of animation that originated in Japan. It is characterized by high contrast, bright colors, and thematic elements of science fiction and fantasy.

 Manga is a style of Japanese comic books and graphic novels. Like anime, it is characterized by exaggerated facial features and bright colors.

 The traditional dress of Japan is the kimono. Kimonos, which are gener ally made of silk, have large sleeves and reach from the shoulders all the way down to the heels. They are tied with a wide belt called an obi. Kimonos are now usually worn only on special occasions, such as the Shichi-Go- San festival, weddings, and graduation ceremonies.

 Compared to Western dress, the kimono tends to limit one's movement, and it takes more time to put on properly. In the summer, however, a more easily worn, lightweight informal kimono known as a yukata is worn by children and young adults at festivals, fireworks displays, and other special occasions. In everyday life, though, young people tend to prefer clothing that is easier to move around in, like T-shirts, jeans, polo shirts, and sweat suits. HAORI kimono HAKAMA HAORI kimono HAKAMA
