La nouvelle fondation de Bill Gates (génitif) essaie d’organiser un événement caritatif tous les deux ans. L’an dernier, elle a organisé une tournée de trois jours (nom composé) avec des idoles de la pop dans le Michigan. Bill Gates’s new foundation tries to organize a charity event every other year/every two years. Ø Last year, it organized a three-day tour with pop icons in Ø Michigan.

Les Etats-Unis sont le troisième producteur mondial de pétrole, mais l’économie se redresse lentement et le Président Obama trouve difficile de convaincre les Américains. The United States is the world’s third largest oil producer/the third largest oil producer in the world, but the economy is recovering slowly / is slowly picking up and Ø President Obama finds it difficult to convince (the) Americans.

Cette compagnie aérienne envisage de supprimer plusieurs milliers d’emplois et va commander moins d’appareils (ne pas utiliser plane) qu’elle n’avait initialement prévu. This airline (company) is considering/ contemplating/ thinking of cutting several thousand_ jobs and is going to order fewer aircraft than it had initially planned to.

Les actionnaires ont décidé de nommer un nouveau directeur général dont la mission sera de mettre en place (to set up) un plan de relance et d’augmenter le chiffre d’affaires d’un peu plus de 3%. The shareholders have decided to appoint a new CEO / executive manager/managing director whose mission will be to set up a stimulus plan/package and to raise/increase the turnover by a little more than 3 percent / a little over 3%.

L’ensemble des mesures d’austérité imposées à l’Europe a échoué et la plupart des prix Nobel d’économie ne soutiennent pas la politique économique de l’Allemagne.

All the austerity measures imposed on Europe failed/ have failed, and most Nobel Prize economists/ Nobel Prize Laureates in economics do not support Ø Germany’s economic policy.

L’auditoire était si peu nombreux (so few) que l’homme d’affaires, en baskets et avec un vieux pantalon qui était bien trop grand pour lui, a fini la conférence au café du village.

The audience were so few that the business man, wearing sneakers/trainers and old trousers which were / an old pair of trousers which was far/much too big/ oversized for him, finished his conference in the village café.

De nombreux chômeurs n’arrivent pas à retrouver un emploi à durée indéterminée. Mon frère est stagiaire chez un agent immobilier, et il voit qu’ils n’ont presque aucune chance (utilisez hardly) de faire un prêt..
