 Because BCCHS’ SBAC scores were really low and quite shameful, we have decided that students should be practicing writing in ALL classes (yes... even French).  The task in all classes will be for you to read a short excerpt, and to respond to it in writing.  For the CWA in French 1, you will be reading and writing in English about a linguistic topic, in this case, the value of learning a second language.  Here’s how you’ll be assessed... COMMON WRITING ASSESSMENT (CWA)

 Put everything on the ground except a single sheet of white paper, and a writing utensil (I prefer blue or black pen).  Take your time, read, think, mark it up, and do the best you can. This is an opportunity to: 1.practice writing for high-stakes tests like the SBAC 2.show your teachers what you know, and how you can articulate what you know. 3.give your teachers ideas as to how they can help you improve your writing.  Good luck! LET’S DO THIS!
